Location

Morven Cottage is situated less than 10 minutes' walk from Peebles High Street. It is a 5-minute walk to the swimming pool and 10 minutes to Hay Lodge Park and the River Tweed. There is on-street parking for cars, and the town bus service goes past the door. The cottage is also situated on the Beltane parade route, with prime viewing from the front garden!

History

The cottage was built in 1870 by a local stonemason, Robert Mason, who lived in the cottage with his family. It was then passed down through the generations until it was sold to the Noble family in 1996. At this time the cottage required substantial renovation to bring it up to modern standards. The Nobles lived in the cottage for 14 years, adding to and adapting it as their family grew. The family left for a larger home in 2011, renting the cottage out before making it available as a holiday let in 2013.

Peebles

Peebles is a wonderful place for outdoors enthusiasts, with walking, running, cycling and mountainbiking facilities on the doorstep.

For those interested in the arts, there are regular shows and events at the Eastgate Theatre, and an annual Shakespeare promenade play at nearby Traquair House.
